Moving into new cities? For some people it is good experience
For tons of years I lived in only one city. Actually, this was the same one where I was born, in which I made first friends, went to first school, in which I met my first partner and so on. This small city in which I grew up was for me the whole word. At that time I possibly couldn’t imagine any other place. Honestly speaking, I wasn’t even thinking that they exist. Surely, I was seeing them in television et cetera. Sadly, they were so unreal that they were extremely abstract, so didn’t even seem to me like to be actual places.

I hadn’t been on for holiday so didn’t visit any place different than my small town. I know that it might sound a bit ridiculous but It was almost twenty five years ago, therefore I am sure that it was quite standard situation these days in our country. Especially for kids like me – children born not in a state city, and in rather poor family. After plenty of years of living in the same place, I finally got a chance to see a word.
And you might not believe me, but once I started, I just couldn’t stop. I have been travelling for last 10 years. I have visited all of the continents and almost 50 countries in total. Some of these places I visited just as a typical tourist, but in some of them I was really living for a while. Surely, it has plenty of advantages. I could meet many new guys, know various cultures, become familiar with a lot of different towns and their history and so on. Most of my colleagues keep on telling how jealous they are about my life. But sometimes I have the feeling that very often they forget that moving to new places has also many disadvantages.
These days, it is not so bad. When you move to new town, you can easily find extremely detailed info about almost anything you need, for instance, where to hire a car in chicago or where to print in nyc. But only imagine to find this sort of information a while ago, when internet was not that fashionable yet. I can recall that sometime it was even not easy for me to find out where I can get cheap but decent meal. I really believe, that the hardest part of living in new cities is to get familiar with new place, space et cetera. However, I do like it the most too.
